Nintendo Switch Online releases

Posted by xboxbob11 - February 1st, 2025

Saw today that Ridge Racer 64 was added to Nintendo Switch Online or NSO if you will. Still no Donkey Kong 64 though. Makes me wonder what’s going to happen with NSO releases before the Switch 2 gets released. Feel free to share thoughts on the matter.

I like how you first spell out the whole words. And after that use the abreviations for convenience.
So many times, people just start off, throwing abreviations around all over the place, that I have no idea what even the subject is. XD

Even as a Nintendo fanboy, I'd have a hard time guessing what's going on.
But you knew better! Lol.

But yeah, the 'NSO'.
I still prefer how the Wii had the Virtual Console deal (VC if ya will ';3).
I mean, the idea is kinda neat, having a type of Netflix service for certain game consoles.
But it feels more like paying for some membership, to sorta visit some dude, to play some games in his collection.

Like, what if I have a friend who I see once a year. When we meet, we would like to play a session of good old Mario Kart 64. Now I have to get a year long subscribtion and also that extra subscription for the whole year. Just to play that one game for a few hours.

Like, let me just pay 5 or 10 buck to buy the game digitaly. Or let me like, pay like, a dollar for a quick session, kinda arcade style.

Its like Nintendo took some 'out of the box' take on the old saying: 'why buy a cow if you can get the milk for free'.
So if Nintendo would be a dairy farmer. And I would be in the mood for just one glass of milk: I would have to pay up for a 1 year membership to the Nintendo Dairy Club, and then get another premium subscription on top, to get access to the cow and milking machine.
Just let me buy a bottle of milk or serve me a single glass on the spot for crying (or moo-ing) out loud!
